Young Planet is a Brooklyn based hip-hop duo comprised of rapper Cidida and
producer Eibol. Their sound is a balance between Cididaʼs lyrical prowess and Eibolʼs
cinematic arrangements over hard-hitting drums in which he combines everything from
technological manipulation to live instrumentation.
The duo is set to release their new EP “Snow Ocean” for free download on February
23rd, 2015 via A co-worker turned close friend named
“Gangtso” whose Tibetan name translates into “Snow Ocean” inspired the 5 song EPʼs
title and cover. Using a more stripped down approach the two focus solely on lyrical
imagery over pulsating emotive soundscapes with an undeniable chemistry that evolves
throughout the project.

But, before the snowy imagery the foundation of Young Planet was conceived in
the summer of 2006 while the two were interning at the legendary Chung King Studios.
The pair squatted in an unused loft on the studioʼs 11th floor. Nearly every night after
sessions they would write, record, and mix songs, which would begin the process that
would later drive Young Planet. Eibol quickly became an in-house engineer working with
artists such as Jay Electronica, Wyclef Jean, Tony Touch and Ryan Leslie until the
studios closing in 2010. Cidida, quickly gaining notoriety on BETʼs Freestyle Friday,
went undefeated for seven weeks, to also appearing on both Terry Urban and Mick
Boogieʼs “The Great American Mix tape” as well as Talib Kweliʼs “The Blacksmith
Community Mix tape”. After honing their individual talents the two later reconnected to
form Young Planet releasing albums “Ludwig, Can You Hear Me?” (2012) and “New
Fast Automatic” (2014).
The latest “Snow Ocean” EP boasts songs such as “Dialog” feat. Holly Overton which
showcases Eibolʼs fluid transition between Producer and MC. Songs like “Climb to
Power” Feat. Key Huggins and “Where My Heads At” simply take the listener into
Cididaʼs current mind state maneuvering through the peaks and valleys of Young
Planetʼs musical journey thus far.

After working tirelessly stripping away layer after layer, Young Planet is happy to
present “Snow Ocean” to their fans. Turn your speakers up and spin Young Planet.
